D/DOCK Innovation

In a time where the world is changing so rapidly, we need to create new opportunities and business models that fit a sustainable future. Translating innovation into feasible business cases is what drives us when it comes to concept development. Our goal is to create and realize solutions that positively contribute to the performance and the wellbeing of all parties involved in a project.

By integrating psychological research into our concepts and by applying evidence-based design in the process, we realize profitable business cases for our clients; concepts that positively influence the wellbeing of the end-users, facilitate behavioral change and contribute to a higher productivity for the employer. Not by focusing on the hard factors in the design alone, but by emphasizing on the soft factors as well and transforming them into measurable elements.

We believe that not one client or project is the same. Our adaptive working method makes that we realize tailor-made designs that work: products that fit today’s new reality and, in our opinion, a better world.

Let’s rethink the way we live

Don’t we all have the feeling we are moving away from nature and we’re being pushed into a lifestyle based on money and business… while loosing our grip on the deeper purpose in life?

As a community we are not exactly preparing this earth for our children, let alone for the future ahead. While so much positive knowledge is within our grasp, we are hesitating to take steps for the better. What if we… just redo our way of living, working, educating?

If we feed the world, then the world can feed us. In the next two years a team of innovators, designers, universities and experts will work together to re-create an ideal living environment. We will not just build a new village: we want the best and happiest possible circumstances in the field of health, nutrition, ecology, sustainability, education and employment, all coming together in a new living model. And meanwhile restore the balance between nature and us. This project will be called ReDock.

Follow our journey step by step, and help us so we can realize this amazing project together with your support. By your enthusiasm, or by your aid.

Circular Schools

Not only the way of working is changing dramatically, schools are also on the verge of change. D/DOCK indicated and translated the future needs of education into a design approach that will stimulate schools to participate in this transformation process, each at their own pace. Together with Cradle to Cradle founder William McDonough, D/DOCK aims to set the new standard in learning environments by building flexible, sustainable, cost-effective and future proof schools: also referred to as Circular Schools.

Furnify

Being a unique player in the market, Furnify links the demand for second hand furniture to the extensive supply of used interior products and materials. Instead of producing new furniture, which eventually will exhaust the world’s supply of raw materials, Furnify gratefully uses these downgraded interior products. With that said, Furnify truly takes the lead in circular purchasing. Together with respected second hand interior suppliers and local craftsmen, we create custom designs for our clients through upcycling and restyling. By doing so, we play an active role in stimulating the local and circular economy, answering to the request of today and the necessity of tomorrow.

Healing Environments

D/DOCK believes that an environment influences the wellbeing of the end-users. That’s why we believe it’s our job as designers to create alternatives for what the current system has to offer: intelligent healthcare environments that are not only beneficial for the wellbeing of the patient but also for their loved ones, medical and supporting staff and the community; spaces that reduce the level of stress and stimulate the healing process by the use of daylight, climate control, materialization and attention for the soft factors such as control and autonomy.

Healing Offices

The New Ways Of Working seemed to be the answer on how to generate cost savings by cutting back on square meters, but does this design principle also contributes to better work environments? Interior design studio D/DOCK took this design principle into another direction and introduced the Healing Offices® concept: a design approach that focuses on the individual health and happiness of employees by creating an environment that boosts positive emotions and facilitates behavioral changes, beneficial to a long-lasting healthy lifestyle.
